The intricate procedure of glass scratch removal and repolishing scratches, rubs, and stains demands the expertise of a seasoned professional. Fortunately, all our SGR technicians possess these specialized skills, ensuring a cost-effective solution is always within reach, no matter the extent of the glass damage.

Glass and acrylics for that matter are subject to many causes of unsightly damage and we are experts in dealing with vehicular, architectural and many other forms of glass restoration.

Our specialist glass polishing processes have evolved dramatically over the last decade with advances in equipment and our unique technical training. Our services are entirely mobile; however, we require safe access to the damaged area and access to a power source, typically. Additionally, dry conditions are necessary for optimal results.

Whether your glass damage is due to vandalism, improper cleaning methods or just down to an accident, SGR can give you a quick answer on the expected results, the timeframe and estimate of costs of restoration. These will be defined by the severity (depth) of the scratches and the spread across the glass. For this reason it is better that we visually inspect the damage before committing to a restoration appointment.

SGR will go to great lengths to protect your property whilst carrying out our restorative work.

Glass scratch removal can be a messy affair. We will mask as much of the area around the damage to be repaired as possible and ensure the site is left clean and tidy.
We will incrementally remove a volume of glass to reduce the surface to the level of the deepest scratch and thus remove it from site. This will render the glass surface as both rough and opaque.

Once the scratch has been removed we will begin the process of re-polishing the surface back to a pristine finish. We achieve this through a typical 5 step process. Each step lightens the hazing from the previous step.

Because the process requires friction through abrasion using power tools, this generates heat and we have to manage the temperature of the glass throughout to avoid distortion, which is a risk.

Please note; On some occasions we may advise to change the glass as the depth of the scratches might preclude a successful restoration.
